The final series between the last two men left standing. In one corner the Blizzcon 2013 Hearthstone Invitational champion and in the other Savjz, a man who was bested once before by Artosis and now seeks retribution.

Artosis Face Warrior vs Savjz Ramp Druid

The first game featured some interesting deck picks. Artosis went for the Face Warrior deck, that has fallen out of favor as of late, due to it lacking card draw and counting on racing your opponent down before your opponent would get an answer in the form of heals or taunts. The chance of getting a bad hand was another reason why this deck has gone out of style. Savjz's deck had a pair of big game hunters as he was anticipating facing Artosis' Handlock druid deck. He also had a Harrison Jones in his deck that would come into play later on. Game one was quite close as Artosis had Savjz on the ropes bringing him down to 2 health. He could not finish the job as there were taunts in his path, along with not getting any cards in the form of Mortal strikes or another Leaper gnome. Thus game one went to Savjz.

Artosis Handlock Warlock vs Savjz Ramp Druid

The second game featured Artosis' Handlock deck and had a few extra surprises. Artosis swapped out Alexstrasza, along with Lord Jaraxxus for a Twisting Nether and a Sylvanas Windrunner. Savjz though still had his Big game hunters and they would definitely make an impact against a deck that has Four Giants (two Molten Giants and two Mountain Giants). This proved to be another close game. One of the Mountain Giants was sniped by the Big game hunter. However, in the end it came down to Ragnaros ignoring Artosis' two Molten giants and hitting him in the face, causing the crucial damage that Savjz needed to take game two.

Artosis Aggro Hunter vs Savjz Ramp Druid

Artosis didn't disappoint with his card choices for game three. This time he put in not one but two River Crocolisks in his deck to try and throw off his opponent by making him think that he is running a Mid-Range Hunter deck. Savjz barely beats Artosis, as the latter had brought the former down to 1hp. The Druid's Gadgetzan Auctioneer Healing Touch combo, along with Ragnaros (the next turn), turned the tide and allowed Savjz to secure his third straight game.

In a last ditch attempt to swing momentum his way, Artosis went back to his Warrior deck. Artosis attempted to rush his opponent down but Savjz's heals and taunts proved to be the deciding factor. Savjz took the game and the series 4-0 in what turned out to be a series a lot closer than the scoreline would lead you to believe. Savjz takes the first prize of $10,000, while Artosis came second with $5,000. The link to the semi finals and finals can be found here.
