PS4’s MLB 14: The Show hits it out of the park

Licensed baseball game MLB 14: The Show launched worldwide for the PlayStation 4 early last week, and has gone on to be the fastest-selling entry into the Major League Baseball series of games.

The announcement was made on Sony's official PlayStation blog, where it was reported that the game also exceeded all previous games in the number of preorders, day-one sales, and week one sales. An infographic (embedded above) published on the blog post shows that over 10 million games have already been played.

MLB 14: The Show was first released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in April this year, with the PS4 version following suite on May 6. For the PS4 version, Sony had rebuilt all Major League Baseball stadiums, with textures that are four times as large and environment polygon counts rising from 150,000 to more than 1 million.
