Germany Will Win the World Cup…According to FIFA Simulation
Germany will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup by defeating perennial powerhouse Brazil 2-1 in extra time, according to a special FIFA 14 simulation, the results of which EA Sports announced today.
Think it's unrealistic that Germany will prevail as champions? EA Sports has a track record of accuracy, as four years ago, they accurately predicted that Spain would win the tournament. At the same time, however, EA Sports' NHL 14 simulation predicted that the Boston Bruins would win this year's Stanley Cup, and that's not going to happen.
According to EA Sports' simulation, Brazil drew first blood with a goal from Neymar, before Per Mertesacker scored the equalizer for Germany late in the game off a header. Miroslav Klose sealed the deal with a goal in extra time to give Germany its fourth World Cup title.
To get to the finals in EA Sports' simulation, Germany knocked off Argentina 2-1 in the quarterfinals and beat defending champions Spain 5-4 in a penalty shootout. The actual World Cup begins next week in Brazil.
Microsoft announced earlier this week the many ways you can enjoy the soccer tournament on your Xbox One.
