Buy games from Amazon? You can now add them to your cart using Twitter
Online retailer Amazon today announced the next evolution of its shopping platform. #AmazonCart is a new feature that lets you add products to your cart directly through Twitter.
All you need to do is find a tweet with an Amazon product link and reply with #AmazonCart. The product is then saved to your cart for you to purchase later on your computer or mobile device. For #AmazonCart to work, you need to connect your Twitter account to the service. Without that link, Amazon would not know to which customer's cart to add the item, the company says.
You don't need to worry about accidentally purchasing items with the hashtag #AmazonCart, as using that hashtag only adds items to your cart, it doesn't purchase them. But here's a warning: unless your Twitter account is set to private, your followers will be able to see what products you're shopping for.
You can see a video of how the Amazon Cart feature works above. One of the examples is a man standing in line for coffee who adds Watch Dogs to his cart before he gets his drink. Quite a successful morning.
