Call of Duty Publisher CEO Takes Ice Bucket Challenge
The Ice Bucket Challenge, a worldwide effort to raise money and awareness for ALS, continues to sweep through the video game industry. Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg is the latest example, getting ice water dumped on his head to support the cause.
As you can see in the video above, Hirshberg completes the challenge on the set of what appears to be an elaborate commercial for Sledgehammer Games' upcoming shooter, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. For his part, Hirshberg nominated a group of friends to take the challenge next: frequent Quentin Tarantino movie producer Lawrence Bender, singer Liz Phair, and and 72 and Sunny chief strategy officer Matt Jarvis.
Hirshberg also made a donation, though he did not specify the amount.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches November 4 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC--but not Wii U. During Gamescom earlier this month, Activision formally revealed the game's multiplayer mode, showing off how the title's marquee feature--the superability-enabling exosuit--will work on the multiplayer battlefield.
