The PlayStation 4 might finally be getting a music player application that supports MP3s, according to pictures of PlayStation Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida’s PSN profile.

Pictures of Yoshida’s profile sent to DualShockers show that he recently played something called “Music Player Demo,” which has an icon of a turntable.

However, another video of Yoshida’s profile shows the Music Player Demo with the description: “Bungie Internal Beta EN PS4.”

Last week Bungie said that it opened its pre-alpha build of Destiny to more people, and it’s likely Yoshida would be one of them. That means that the Destiny build could simply be mislabeled as “Music Player Demo,” or that Yoshida is testing the application’s custom soundtracks ability in the Destiny build.

The PlayStation 3 had a music player that supported MP3 and custom soundtracks, and fans were upset one wasn’t included in the PS4 at launch. In October 2013, Yoshida said Sony might address the issue in the future. "Thanks for the feedback to the lack of MP3 and DLNA support at the launch of PS4. I'll share with the PS4 Dev team for future consideration," he said on Twitter. "Had a very good discussion w the PS4 Dev team today. We're happy & appreciative to learn so many people use and like PS3's media features."

Again, this could easily be a bug or even a music player that doesn't support MP3s, so you should take this with a grain of salt until Sony makes an official statement. Either way, unless Sony plans to release it as a big surprise, it’s not likely that we’ll see a music player in the PS4’s 1.70 update, which will release next Wednesday, April 30.
