Xbox One game Fable Legends will have “huge presence” at E3

Xbox One-exclusive role-playing game Fable Legends will have a "huge presence" at E3 2014 next month, Lionhead Studios boss John Needham said today during a press event attended by CVG.

"We're super busy at the studio gearing up for E3," Needham said. "We're going to have a huge presence there. You can come to our booth and play."

It's likely that Fable Legends will have some sort of presence during Microsoft's press conference on Monday, June 9, but this was not confirmed. Fable Legends doesn't have a release date yet, but a beta for the game will kick off sometime this year.

Fable Legends was announced during Gamescom 2013 last August. Needham also today provided an update regarding how the game is shaping up. "Fable Legends is an exciting title that's really fun already," he said. "We're building it with Unreal Engine 4 and that combined with Xbox One has resulted in us building I think one of the most beautiful games on the platform."

The newest entry in the series since Fable: The Journey (outside of this year's Fable Anniversary), Fable Legends includes co-op for up to four players. The game will also allow one player to take on the role of a villain, though we're still awaiting details on how specifically this will work.

Lionhead Studios said previously that it expects Fable Legends, an online-focused role-playing game, to have a lifespan of up to 10 years. It will be supported over that extended period of time by Microsoft's cloud services, according to Needham.

On top of Fable Legends, Lionhead Studios is working on a non-Fable game, though there's no word on what it might be.
