LGB eSports Lose CS:GO Team
LGB eSports, the Swedish eSports organization founded in 2013, has had to let go of its team due to lacking funds to support the aspiring squad. Until recently the squad seemed on the way up, specifically doing well at the two CS:GO Majors that have been held up to this point. They placed 5-8th after close games against NiP at DreamHack Winter, and improved to a 3-4th placing at EMS One Katowice losing to the winner Virtus.pro. Although they fell to 5-8th again at Copenhagen games due to another loss to Virtus.pro, the team is still easily a top contender at any tournament they attend.
Currently LGB are still actively competing in the FACEIT Spring League and ESEA, with good chances of making the finals in both competitions, however the ESEA finals are held in the United States meaning attending will be expensive without the proper support. Together with their manager Viktor "vuggo" Jendeby the team will be on the look out for a now team until then.OnGamers spoke to Isak "Cype" Rydman about some of the impacts the departure has for the team's near future:
Now that you're without an organization but still ranked 4th in the ESEA, how does this move impact your chances of making it to the LAN Finals?
It doesn't affect us at all, if we do not find an organization by the time the ESEA Finals are, then we will use our EMS Katowice money to fund our upcoming trips, such as ESEA and DreamHack Summer.
What kind of organization you'd be looking for, as we've seen with Titan that organizations are a bit apprehensive of going into cs:go because of the costs. Are you looking for something established after LGB or do you keep an open mind?
To become a better team we need an organization that we can grow in, and not the other way around.
Furthermore Rydman added:
We want to thank all our fans for the support aswell as Xtrfy, who have been the people behind LGB eSports for the time being, both of which have been a big part of what we are today.
The line-up of the team will remain:
Isak "cype" Rydman
Dennis "dennis" Edman
Simon "twist" Eliasson
Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson
Olof "olofm" Kajbjer
