Rookie, Kakao to join Invictus Gaming
Song "RooKie" Eui-jin and Lee "KaKAO" Byung-kwon will join Invictus Gaming (iG) according to Wang Si-Cong, owner of the team. iG's pick up of Rookie and Kakaos signifies a new direction for the team. Yesterday, the Association of Chinese Esports posted their transfer list which confirmed that iG was looking for a new jungler and transferred Chen "illuSioN" Xinlin to their sister team Young Glory.
Kakao and Rookie announced that they were departing the KT Rolster Arrows on the 6th of October this year and nothing concrete emerged about the future of the two until now despite rumors and speculation.
Wang Si-Cong, the team's owner, stated that Kakao will be the jungler for the new team while Rookie and Liu "Zzitai" Zhihao will both be mid laners. He additionally stated the top laner will be Chinese.
Si-Cong's comments throw into question the futures of Baek "Save" Young-Jin and Song "Fly" Young-jun who left starting positions on Najin em-Fire and Jin Air Green Wings to sign with Invictus Gaming. With the movement of illuSioN to Young Glory, the two could end as starters on Invictus Gaming's sister team.
Update: Invictus Gaming has officially announced that Kakao and Rookie as members. They have additionally stated that Lee "PoohManDu" Jeong-hyeon and Won "MaFa" Sang-yeon will be joining the team as coaches.
