Fnatic Withdraw From SLTV
Earlier today Fnatic CGO Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon announced that Fnatic, one of the four teams qualified for the SLTV offline finals after a third place in the regular season, will not be attending the LAN in Kiev. In a statement the Chief Gaming Officer elaborated on the decision, explaining that after discussing matters with the Swedish Foreign Ministry, the decision was made to pull out.
Due to the current situation in Ukraine I regret to confirm that Fnatic CS:GO has decided to withdraw from our participation at the upcoming Starladder. After consulting the Swedish Foreign Ministry, as well as discussing with our players’ families, we have ultimately taken the decision to sit out this season’s final of SLTV.
Fnatic finished third in the regular season but clocked the least losses of any team in the league, losing just 1 match but drawing on 3 separate occasions, while winning 10 of their 14 played matches. They'll now be replaced by Natus Vincere, who will be playing yet another SLTV championship on home soil in Kiev.
Whether the move has any further implications for the other Swedish team in attendance, namely Ninjas in Pyjamas, is as of yet uncertain.
The grand finals, which are held starting March 2nd in the CyberArena in Kiev, will hand out $30,000 in prizemoney, with the winner taking home $15,000.
The match-ups for the SLTV StarSeries IX Finals now look as follows: |

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Natus Vincere |
