SK Gaming Owner not worried about EU players going to NA LCS

Amidst the multitude of roster changes in the last week from top North American and European LCS teams, officials from both Fnatic and SK Gaming confirmed to onGamers that neither team will be making any changes to their lineups. Fnatic and SK Gaming topped the 2014 EU LCS Spring Playoffs, finishing first and second, respectively.

"Even though we have individually high skilled players on all positions, we believe team trumps individual skill," SK Gaming Managing Director Alexander 'TheSlaSH' Müller told onGamers. "We are still a young team and have gathered experience in the spring split. Now it is time for us to grow from that. Look at Fnatic. What makes them strong is their approach, which is exactly the same direction as ours, only they have had way more time than we did. Maybe this is also why we get along pretty good these days."

"Overall I see LCS EU getting even stronger with the changes happening at the moment. Young players with a lot of hunger to challenge the experienced players will surprise us, I am actually quite certain this will happen. Happened before. The stars from yesterday are not as dominant as they were and have to prove themselves even more."

Among the recent LCS transfers, former Copenhagen Wolves German jungler Maurice 'Amazing' Stückenschneider joined TSM in a switch from the EU to NA LCS. Before the season began, ex-Lemondogs jungler Marcel 'dexter' Feldkamp made a similar switch by joining Counter Logic Gaming. Müller isn't concerned about European players going to the other side of the Atlantic.

"I am not worried about good EU talent going to the NA region at all," he said. "No player is irreplaceable, we have seen that in the past and we will see new stars rising from these moves. I'd rather worry about the NA region that seems to lack talent to fill the vacuum. If you are young, you might want the adventure and challenge, go to NA, live the so called dream and see what it holds for you. Why not, this is the time you can do it.

"Would we want to lose a player on our roster this way? No, but would I understand the desire of a player to get the experience: yes. Still, we are focused on what we do and that is play LCS EU summer split come end of May."
