North American Rejects win the TI4 NA qualifier
After a mere month of competing together, the North American Rejects have managed to qualify for TI4. Showing a dominant form in the qualifier’s group stage where they topped the group with an overall score of 8 wins and 2 losses, the team of rejects soared past Team Liquid in the winner bracket semi-finals and guaranteed their trip to Seattle as they moved on to the grand finals.
Unfortunately, the grand finals went completely awry as the fifth and final game of the Bo5 had to be rescheduled to the next day following massive issues with Valve’s server cluster on the east coast of the US. The confrontation in this deciding game had since built up throughout the entire day, as it all came down to one final game between playing in the wildcard tournament and actually receiving a secure spot in the world’s biggest ever esports tournament.
The game was over in a flash; NAR, off the back of a very crucial courier kill never let their grip of the game go. JingJun ‘Sneyking’ Wu’s Drow Ranger went out of control extremely early on, as did Steven ‘Korok’ Ashworth’s signature Templar Assassin who shredded Team Liquid’s Max ‘qojqva’ Broeckers Shadow Fiend in the midlane. Liquid had little to no reprieve in the game and NAR closed it out in under 20 minutes of game time.
