LGD releases statement after being eliminated from the WPC-ACE League
Earlier today LGD faced up against Dream Time in a two game series in order to decide which of the remaining teams would advance to the playoff stage. Unfortunately Dream Time proved too much for LGD winning the series 2-0 continuing their strong recent form.
The elimination from the tournament leaves LGD unable to challenge for one of the largest prize pools China has seen so far with approximately ¥1,530,000 (~$245,000) on the line in this year's event.
The statement goes into detail regarding the recent attacks against their team and specifically their younger players, Rabbit and Lin. Their reasons behind why acquiring older/existing talent from the scene won't help them at this moment in time and lots more.
LGD will need to put their loss behind them as they will soon be entering into the International 2014 Chinese qualifiers which are due to start on the 20th of May.
LGD-Gaming's Statement
After our elimination from the World E-Sports Professional Classic, we received several private messages; some were death threats, some were regarding the so-called terrible performances from both Rabbit and Lin and some were words of encouragement.
We perfectly understand your frustration, but our players and staff are the ones suffering the most from this early elimination. Most of you want us to kick both Rabbit and Lin and sign players like ZSMJ or Ferrari_430.
Things are not as easy as you think they are. Why do you think that Ferrari_430 and/or ZSMJ would do well with us? Performing well in a team does not mean you can perform well in another. Be that as it may, Rabbit and Lin have improved considerably ever since they joined our organization. While Rabbit does not have the same popularity than BurNIng, Sylar or Hao, he is still as strong or sometimes better as them. The fact that Rabbit started his competitive career later than the aforementioned names does not mean he is a bad player.
Lin does mistakes, but who does not? It is true that Lin is having a hard time, but he is still a very good player who has improved drastically over the past few weeks. He is a young and talented player who needs time before he can reach his peek. Compared to the first games he planned under the LGD banner, it is fair to say that he is no the same player anymore. He is aware that he is not perfect, and trust me when I say that he works hard everyday in order to be closer to perfection.
Although we are eliminated from China's most prestigious competition, there are a lot of positive things to remember from today's games. First of all, we did not lose to unknown teams. We took one game from Invictus Gaming, a team that took second in the previous edition, and lost to Dream Time, a team that is having a spectacular run. The fact that they managed to win the second game despite xdd's Spectre having a terrible start proves that their whole team can face tough situation. This team is not just about Air's Brewmaster.
Secondly, we tried out heroes and strategies that we never or barely played before. I think it is a good thing to remember from today's games. Chinese teams are often criticized for not trying out anything new, but when they do, and it does not work out, they are criticized. Every team needs to adapt; even DK often struggle after a new patch. The departure of xiao8 was a huge blow, but we are slowly adapting.
The World E-Sports Professional Classic is over for us, and there is absolutely no point debating about our elimination. We are eliminated, and we can't change this. The International — Chinese qualifiers start very soon, and that's our only objective right now. We are going to practice very hard, study our opponents and hope for the best.
If you a LGD-Gaming fan, we hope that you will support our teams. Even if we do not show you the results that you want, it is just a matter of time before we reach the top once again.
Thank you very much for your support. I read each of your comment even if some are really harsh, but they just make us realize that we have a lot of work to do in order to achieve greatness.
