What is the likelihood of the International 2014’s prize pool hitting $10,000,000?
The 2014 version of the International Compendium continues to break records after reaching the 18th stretch goal earlier this week of a whopping $8,400,000 unlocking future support for customisation of the multi-kill banner.
The new milestone leaves a total of only four more stretch goals to go with the final one resting comfortably on the $10,000,000 mark.
Remaining Stretch Goals
- $8,800,000 - Afterparty Broadcast
- Live Broadcasting of the after party with special guest Darude.
- $9,200,000 - New Upgraded Creeps
- Unlocks new models for your creeps after you have killed the enemy barracks. (Available to all players, not just Compendium Owners).
- $9,600,000 - A->Z Challenge Support
- A new quest system will be added to track your progress, and earn you rewards as you win with all the Dota Heroes. (Available to all players, not just Compendium Owners).
- $10,000,000 - Victory Prediction Taunt
- Unlocks the ability for you to perform a voice taunt with your Hero in the early stages of the game. Keeps track of how many successful predictions you have made in a row.
$10,000,000 A Dream? Or Reality?
At the time of writing we are 46 days away from this year's International grand finals with the prize pool currently sitting at $8,599,099 a total of $1,400,901 from the $10,000,000 goal which requires an average increase of $30,454 per day from now until the finals to reach that goal.
Looking at the maths behind the money raised so far we can see that we are already sitting on a daily average of $279,636. This is mainly due to the initial strong support for the Compendium but also due to the release of the Immortal items. A number of prediction graphs were made however none of them could really take into account the release of the stretch goal rewards such as the Immortal items.
The healthy numbers below should mean we are in a very good standing to reach the $10,000,000 mark and even more so with a number of rewards still pending for release.
The release of the Immortals was able to provide a huge spike to the prize pool and there are still plenty of goals left yet to be delivered to the Compendium owners, all of which will do their part in helping increase the prize pool even further.
The current remaining deliverables are as follows:
- Chat Emotes
- Alternative Styles for Lieutenant Squawkins (Alternative styles unlocked at Level 24 and Level 41)
- Mini-Pudge Courier (Plus alternative skin for those with a level 50+ Compendium)
- New Music Pack
- Environmental Effects
- Base Customisation
- Favourite Hero Challenge
- Multi-Kill Banner Customisation
There are more rewards to be delivered however I have only listed the ones that are restricted to Compendium owners only as these are more likely to contribute to sales than the other rewards.
At no point in time has the daily average prize pool increase dropped below double of what is required now to hit the $10,000,000 goal. The next question we should be asking is how do we split $10,000,000 between the 16 teams.
