EU LCS Week 3 recap
Two more playing days of the European LCS passed in the blink of an eye and Alliance are still kings! With SK steadily behind their back, everyone was pleasantly surprise to see that the Supa Hot Crew did not back down and are still keeping the third spot and denying Fnatic entrance to the top 3. Unfortunately, things continue to look grim fro the Polish pride ROCCAT who are yet to show their form from last split. Regardless, we are back with the top plays and performers of week 3.

First up is CandyPanda who managed to showcase his incredible mechanics and defeat Kottenx in a very entertaining duel between Evelynn and Kog'Maw. Barely escaping with a sliver of health, Adrian sent a message to all junglers who dare gank his lane. Next up is Supa Hot Crew's Wewillfailer who was a Thresh maestro this week. The Belgian managed to carefully avoid the barrage of skillshots from Fnatic then flash-jump the Nami Ultimate only to land a crucial hook onto Rekkles, thus securing the dominance of his team in the game. A piece of brilliance! Returning to his fabled play-making self, Shook once again showed why he is a perfect fit for Alliance. After a small skirmish on mid, he continued chasing an out of mana Selfie who despite blowing Flash and his Satchel Charge to escape, was no match for a Dutch master of Elise. Speaking of the devil, Selfie was caught out not once or twice this game, but one of his escape attempts left everyone shouting their lungs out. Finally, we saw a perfect teamfight initiation from ROCCAT. A three-man Lee Sin kick was followed by Dragon's Decent and Destiny. With the help of Vander, Jankos and Celaver finished off Fnatic in a clean 5-0 sweep.
Champion of the week: Anivia
We cannot overlook the pick of the European LCS this week - Froggen's bird. The Dane showed that in the right hands, the out-of-the-meta (or at least uncommon) pick can wreak havoc in the enemy lines. In his two games this week Henrik died only once, showcasing his mastery while doing his best to disrupt his opponents and provide first class waveclear. Finally, how can we miss the epic moment when Wickd questions his compatriot? "Can you pick something that would actually win team fights?" after which came a swift "Anivia dude". Don't you ever learn Wickd?
Top of the week: Simon 'fredy122' Payne (KDA Ratio: 12)
Britain's very own Fredy impressed this week as he continued his consistent performance on top lane. Regardless of lane swaps, teleports and inconvenient circumstances, the Brit managed to score a 12 KDA ratio with two very impressive games, thus earning his spot as this week's best top laner. While SK are still trailing Alliance, this is not the end and I hope we are to see more of Fredy's top lane dominance.
Jungler of the week: Illyes 'Shook' Harstema (KDA Ratio: 4.8)
For the second week in a row, Shook finds himself as Jungler of the week. With two convincing victories, Alliance keep their top spot and in the next two editions are ready to challenge the most consecutive wins record, should all go according to plan. A centerpiece in the team structure, Shook can always be relied upon regardless of the champion pick. Despite not being as impressive as Svenskeren (KDA: 11.5), the Dutchman is more consistent and stops at nothing to feed his laners.
Mid laner of the week: Henrik 'Froggen' Hansen (KDA Ratio: 21)
SK and Alliance are neck-a-neck in both the leader board and KDA ratios. The only mid laner to surpass Froggen's stats is non-other than Jesiz. However, Henrik gave us an immense dose of entertainment mixed with a little bit of nostalgia with his Anivia pick. Few have the courage to pull something like that nowadays, but the best mid laner in Europe even went beyond, dying only once during the two play days.
Bot lane of the week: CandyPanda and nRated (KDA ratios: 26 and 7.7 respectively)
The fabled German efficiency is definitely showing in League of Legends. This week however, the duo was on another level. Completely crushing the Millenium bot lane and afterwards winning duels with relative ease, the SK bot lane is only rivaled by, surprise - surprise, Alliance. This takes nothing away from those though, they had an excellent showing and are one of the reasons why the team is the only one who can fully challenge the current first place holder. Their clashes are a true treat for every LoL fan.
Summary of the week
The biggest surprise this week was Supa Hot Crew's determination and victory against Fnatic. They proved that their games and performance so far is nothing but hard work. Coach LS should definitely be proud as his boys put Fnatic to shame not once or twice during the clash. Despite another unconvincing week, something in Gambit gives me hope and that is Genja. If you actually compare him to the Genja prior to Alex's departure, now you'll see a ferocious AD Carry trying to not go even, but demolish his opponents. He plays a very aggressive Caitlyn and is clearly trying his best to prove former brother-in-arms Alex Ich wrong. Last, but not least, ROCCAT continue to disappoint. Although it is too early to count anyone out, the clock is ticking and should they continue to let themselves and their fans down, things may get ugly really quick.
