Call of Duty hits highest attendance of any game at an MLG event
Following a wildly successful showing at the X Games, competitive Call of Duty continues to hit new heights. The Call of Duty community has shown up in full force in Anaheim, breaking the record for the most amount of spectators and competitors for a single game at any MLG event in league history. So told MLG Vice President Adam Apicella to onGamers.
"Call of Duty has the highest single-game attendance of any game we've ever operated at an MLG event", said Apicella. Apicella declined to give an exact number of attendees.
Call of Duty at this year's Anaheim Championship breaks the single-game attendance record held by League of Legends at the 2013 Anaheim Championships, which also hosted Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and StarCraft 2.
Over 21,000 attendees passed through last year's Anaheim Championships to be one of MLG's most successful events ever. This year's event is not expected to break the overall MLG attendance record from last year, but is already within the top 5 MLG events of all time.
