compLexity’s CoD team becomes Evil Geniuses
Considered to be one of the largest sales ever in North American esports history, compLexity Gaming have sold their absurdly dominant Call of Duty team to Evil Geniuses, as they now field their first ever console FPS division. The current EG roster are enjoying one of the largest ever winstreaks in competitive CoD history, as they have won 10 out of the 11 LANs they have attended together, with their lowest placement being a 2nd place finish at the MLG PAX Prime Invitational.
The former rivalling esports organisations were discussing the sale for the past few weeks until the eventual deal took shape. "This is a substantial investment for us (definitely the largest eSports contract buyout I've heard of), but we feel that both the accomplishments of the players and the growth of Call of Duty as an eSport warrant this kind of commitment." was what Alex Garfield, EG's CEO had to say about the investment itself when the announcement went live over at compLexity's website. The owners have both respectively declined to speak on the nature of the deal itself at this time.
Whilst their most successful division have moved on, coL will obtain a new squad within the franchise according to Jason Lake, CEO of team compLexity.
"As for the future, Complexity loves COD and intends on building a new #coLofDuty as soon as possible so that we can continue to build on our unparalleled resume in the space.”
