Copenhagen Wolves forfeit match to ROCCAT, Copenhagen Wolves respond
Today, Riot Games announced Copenhagen Wolves would forfeit their match versus ROCCAT.
Copenhagen Wolves' starting mid laner, CowTard is unable to play due to illness.
While the Copenhagen Wolves do have substitutes on their roster, they did not submit the documents needed for a player to actively start a match in the LCS by the deadline specified in the ruleset.
Without being able to field a team of 5 players, Copenhagen Wolves must forfeit their match.
Their substitute is eligible to play starting Friday 13th June, 2014.
The statement also goes on to state that the team must inform Riot of any substitute before 23:59 PST. Copenhagen Wolves claim their team contacted Riot within the time frame, but did not have the proper paperwork completed.
- Cowtard got sick overnight and informed our team manager that he wouldn't be able to play. This happened around 04:00 CEST.
- Riot ruling clearly states that the team must inform Riot of any substitution before 23:59 PST.
- Our team manager sent an email to Riot at 05:26 CEST (20:26 PST) informing that Mazzerin would be replacing Cowtard since he got sick overnight.
- In that very same email our manager asked for guidance in case any further information/documentation was needed.
- However first Riot answer only came in at 14:35 CEST.
- We did manage to get Mazzerin from Lithuania to Cologne on time and the team was sent to the studio.
- However Riot explained to us that they did not have the required paperwork on Mazzerin to allow him to participate in today's match ("Summary Sheet").
Copenhagen Wolves substitute, Mazzerin, will be able to play tomorrow.
