D2L Western Challenge reaches its conclusion with Na’Vi and EG battling for the title
In this shorter version than the usual D2L seasons, eight of the West's top tier teams sought to claim the $25,000 1st place prize the league offered up to its contestants. Now the final two teams are decided, and it will be Evil Geniuses and Na'Vi who will battle for the title.
The paths of each team has been completely separate, EG have cruised through the entire tournament with a 1st place finish in the groupstage and a flawless set of playoff games where they managed to 2-0 both RoX.Kis and Fnatic in order to reach the grand final. Meanwhile, Na'Vi finished in the middle of the pack in the groupstage, and looked shaky in their Bo3 against RoX in the playoffs until an unfortunate forfeit came out from the Russian team due to one of their players being unable to reconnect to the game.
Since then, the Ukranian titans crushed Team Empire and Fnatic in two extremely one-sided series, meaning that the undoubtedly strongest teams in the tournament will be facing each other in a Bo5 grand final, that will be starting later today.
