Dominik ‘Black^’ Reitmeier departs from CiS-Game
The sole remaining competitive non-Chinese Dota player in China will not be returning to play with his team of the past three months. The news broke earlier today when the carry player posted the following message to his Weibo:
Hey, after the disappointing performance at TI4, the team and I got together and decided changes needed to be done. I will be leaving the team, but I sincerely believe they are all very talented and have a bright future ahead of them. Thanks for all the good good times!
Having travelled to China to join LGD.int in September last year following a 16th place finish at the 2013 Internaiontal together with mousesports, the German player experienced much difficulty when the international initiative disbanded after underperforming heavily during the post-TI3 season.
Reitmeier's journey in China looked like it had come to an end after the dissolution of LGD.int, but the German found himself eventually onboard CiS-Game, one of the biggest come-up stories in the Chinese community during the first half of 2014 as they had managed to defeat established teams such as DK with their use of unconventional strategies. Together with CiS, Black^ managed to secure a spot in the wildcard tournament at TI4 in Seattle after placing 2nd in the Chinese TI4 qualifiers.
However, all four members of the team aside from Reitmeier ran in to constant issues when attempting to secure a VISA to the US, and thusly didn't practice for up to two months. Needless to say, the team's run in Seattle ended abruptly as they were eliminated by Team Liquid in a 2-0 sweep. Whether Reitmeier will continue playing in China is uncertain, but seems to be relying solely on the offers he receives during the off-season.
