Dreamhack announce Hearthstone tournament with $25,000 prize pool
Following on from the huge success of Hearthstone at Dreamhack Open Bucharest, Dreamhack Summer have announced their own $25,000 Hearthstone tournament with a twist; the final 16 player tournament will be played on iPad, the first of it's kind to be so. With the largest live Hearthstone tournament to date so far, and a tournament structure involving 12 seeded players which anyone can apply for, it will be interesting to see whether Dreamhack choose to seed some more up and coming players or if they opt for the tried and tested veterans of the scene.
The World’s largest live Hearthstone tournament with the goal to take the record in participating players will be hosted at DreamHack Summer 2014 on 14-16 June. The top 16 players will fight over a $25,000 prize pool.
The tournament will feature a combination of seeded players who have proven themselves as the World’s best, as well as a massive open bracket. The main tournament will be played on iPad, instead of PC like previous professional tournaments, which will give the tournament a complete different flavour.
