Fnatic’s Adrian ‘Era’ Kryeziu to miss The Summit

Updated: Fnatic has released a video interview with H4nni regarding Era's decision to sit out The Summit due to health issues.

Original story:

With roster woes already affecting one of the attending teams at the upcoming The Summit tournament in Los Angeles, North America, it has now come to onGamers' attention that Fnatic's carry player Era will not be able to attend the event. Instead, 16-year old Steve ‘Excalibur’ Ye will be filling in for him in North America.

Excalibur, who is currently ranked 3rd on the European Dota 2 leaderboard, has yet to make his name known within the competitive circuit, aside from recently standing in for Fnatic against the former Rox.Kis roster. He comes as a rather unexpected temporary addition to the highly successful European team who recently managed to qualify for the ASUS ROG DreamLeague playoffs, as well as ESL One.

What position the Swedish-Chinese newcomer will play at the LAN itself has not yet been decided, as he has fluctuated between a number of roles in recent scrims together with Fnatic.

Era was nowhere to be found at the Fnatic-orchestrated fan event The Convergence, which concluded yesterday, where all four other members of the team were available for a fan meet-and-greet.

This is not the first time that the Swedish carry has been forced to sit out a tournament in North America. At the start of 2014, Kryeziu was forced to decline his participation at the D2L Season 4 finals due to being ill. Cloud 9’s Kurtis ‘Aui_2000’ Ling claimed the reins in Era’s absence, and managed to help the team place in the top 2 together with Jimmy ‘DeMoN’ Ho, who had to fill in for Kai ‘H4nni’ Hanbueckers as he was stranded in Germany on the day of his flight.

As of yet, it is uncertain whether or not Ye will be participating with the team in the aforementioned DreamLeague and ESL One tournaments or if Era will have returned to the roster at the time of said competitions. The reason for his absence is for the time being unknown.

Fnatic at The Summit will consist of the following players:

  • Johan 'n0tail' Sundstein
  • Kalle 'Trixi' Saarinen
  • Kai 'H4nni' Hanbueckers
  • Tal 'Fly' Aizik
  • Steve 'Excalibur' Ye (stand-in)

Teams attending The Summit:

  • EG
  • Team DK
  • Na'Vi
  • Vici Gaming
  • North American Rejects
