H2K forfeit Challenger Series match; Riot with a statement
H2k-Gaming, one of Europe's premier Challenger teams alongside Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming Prime and Unicorns of Love, has unfortunately forfeited their series against Spanish side Gamers2. Last week, the team led by Febiven and Odoamne were defeated in the semi-finals by SK Gaming Prime and had to join Ocelote and his crew in the 3rd/4th place match of the European Challenger Series #2.
Regarding the withdrawal, team manager Robin 'Jed' Jedhammer released a brief statement:
Due to some internal team issues we've decided to forfeit today's game in order to come back as a stronger united team for playoffs.
Riot Games quickly responded to the situation and Challenger Coordinator, J.T. 'RiotTiza' Vandenbree shed some light on the matter:
H2K has willingly forfeited the CS match today due to internal conflicts. They will be fined, potentially more pending investigation.
Regardless, due to their impeccable performance last time in the Challenger Series, H2K will still be in the race for an LCS spot during the 2015 European Qualifier.
