Hanlabong and MickeyGod join World Elite Academy
So far, World Elite Academy has failed to win a single game in 2014 LPL Summer. After their entrance into the league was highly anticipated with some fans insisting they were superior to their sister team, WE.A fell short. Some argued that drama with the team's previous captain AhrI set them behind, but regardless of the reason for the their poor performance, it's clear that something would have to change.
World Elite Academy announced the acquisition of two new players from Korea, Dongha 'Hanlabong' Kim, top laner from Prime Optimus, and solo queue talent, MickeyGod.
Hanlabong gained a reputation as a Jax player after he carried Prime Optimus to a victory over SK Telecom T1 S, forcing a tie-breaker between K and S to get out of the group stage in 2014 Champions Spring. MickeyGod is known primarily as a jocular Lee Sin player and streamer from Korean Challenger solo queue.
The acquisitions of these two new players seem like a desperate attempt to revitalize the team. Whether it will be successful is unclear.
Check out World Elite Academy's first matches with their new acquisitions this weekend in LPL at 1:00am PDT on Saturday, when they face Young Glory, and again at 4:00am PDT on Sunday when they meet OMG on the rift.
