LGD and Star Horn Royal Club acquire new players
Though this doesn't necessarily quell the rumors that Star Horn Royal Club is scouting Korean talent, the organization announced the approval of their acquisition of three Chinese players by L.ACE. It is also suggested that more announcements will be coming regarding the SH Royal Club roster.
Cola is a top laner who played for Kx.Cash during the most recent LSPL season. Huang "LaoPi" Yong-Chan was a substitute player for Energy Pacemaker Hong Kong during the 2014 Spring LPL split, but has previously played as a starting support player for EP.HK as well. Finally, corn, who played for Royal Club during IET, has officially joined the team as a mid laner. He played for the team King, which failed to qualify for LSPL last split.
Whether these players will complement Wang "kmi" Long-Jie and Jian "Uzi" Zhi-Hao on the final roster when LPL begins again on June 14th remains to be seen, but most fans are especially excited by the acquisition of corn, who has a reputation as a strong player in Chinese solo queue.
In addition to Star Horn Royal Club's announcement, LGD Gaming also unveiled their new mid laner, Wei "We1less" Lian. We1less has been a member of Vici Gaming since the team's formation in 2012. Vici Gaming placed in the top four of three LPL qualifying events. They narrowly missed out on the opportunity to enter 2014 LPL Spring by losing to Energy Pacemaker Hong Kong in the promotion. In order to enter the promotion, they placed second in Tencent Games Arena 2013 Winter, barely losing a best-of-five to LGD Gaming.
It is rumored that We1less was especially looking forward to joining LGD Gaming because he sees support player Chen "Pyl" Bo as an exceptional captain. During an on stream conversation, We1less was reportedly given an unofficial offer to join World Elite, but he refused, citing his trust in Pyl.
We1less, like corn, has a reputation for being one of the strongest mid laners in China, despite not appearing in LPL last split. With this new talent joining the ranks, fans hope the level of competition in the role will increase. Whether they can live up to the hype remains to be seen.
