NaMei to join Star Horn Royal Club
Yesterday, Yoon "Zero" Kyungsup was duoing with Zhu "NaMei" Jiawen on stream. When chat visitors began to speculate, Zero told his viewers NaMei would be playing for Star Horn Royal Club.
Zero is not without a reputation for a sense of humor, but he appeared to be communicating with NaMei from within the Star Horn Royal Club house. OnGamers reached out to sources close to SHRC for additional information and were told that NaMei is likely to play for the organization in LPL.
Today, Edward Gaming announced NaMei's departure from the club.
He[NaMei] is a domestic league LPL record holder, four times in the LPL league finals, and three time consecutive LPL winner. No matter how the professional arena changes, the 2014 season undoubtedly belongs to Zhu Jiawen.
Best wishes for the future. EDG.NaMei, your jersey will hang on the wall of honor at the club. Next season, although we may be rivals, we will remember the contributions you made in EDG.
According to our sources, NaMei's departure from EDG to SHRC was amicable, and EDG helped facilitate the transfer after an offer was made and NaMei expressed interest in accepting. As a result, LACE agreed to grant an exception to the out-of-transfer-period move.
This news comes shortly after the announcement that Jian "Uzi" Zihao would join the OMG Esports Club, and Kim "Deft" Kyukkyu would join Edward Gaming. NaMei joining Star Horn Royal Club amid the roster changes seems like a logical fit. Though both Uzi and NaMei play different styles as AD carries, NaMei has played on Positive Energy, a team with very similar strengths and weaknesses to SHRC, before.
OnGamers will publish more details as they become available, and you can watch both EDG and SHRC play in LPL starting January 16th.
