SGS goes on hiatus, releases active roster
The Singapore Sentinels will not compete in the upcoming season of The Legends Circuit. After yet another disappointing year for the Singapore based team, the Sentinels have officially announced a hiatus from professional gaming, opting to not participate in the following season of Singapore's national circuit.
Additionally, they will release their current roster which consisted of Jason "Harleluyar " Koh , Benjamin "Benw" Wah, Hoong "Kryonics" Fan Kai, Daniel "Ddan" Lua and Lo "Swoop" Liangqing will be released and are free to seek other teams to compete in.
The Singapore Sentinels were once widely regarded as the best non-Taiwanese team in South East Asia, however, they never fully reached that potential. The team was most known for its rivalry with the Season 2 Champions Taipei Assassins back in 2014. Despite sporadically taking games off the Season 2 Champions, the Sentinels themselves never attended the World Championships, having been knocked out by the Saigon Jokers in 2012 and Mineski in 2013.
After Garena decided to fuse Taiwan and South East Asia as part of their structural changes to the Garena Premiere League, the Sentinels were unable to keep up with their Taiwanese opposition and the loss of their star player Wong "Chawy" Xing Lei to the Taipei Assasins dealt a major blow that the team did not recover from.
The Chawy-less roster of the Singapore Sentinels failed to make the Garena Premiere League as they were defeated by Insidious Gaming.
