WPC Statement on missing Prize Money

After DK manager Farseer recently revealed on his Tencent Weibo that certain prize monies, including money from WPC, were late in being paid, we now have WPC issuing an official statement regarding the situation. The statement is translated in full below.

Fans of WPC, thank you for your support and love towards us. Regarding the recent issue surrounding WPC Season 1 prize money, here is our official statement.

1. Currently, apart from DK's prize money, all other prize money for Season 1 has been paid out completely.

2. DK's prize money has not been able to be resolved due to paperwork and tax problems. WPC has been working with ACE Alliance and DK all along the process to keep up with communication and work towards resolving the prize money payment.

3. WPC will coordinate with ACE in order to get the prize money paid to DK as soon as possible.

Thank you to ACE and each and every club for their support. Thank you to our fans for your support and hopes for WPC, we hope that you will continue watching and supporting WPC.

Additionally, the Dota ACE organization elaborated on the prize money situation, saying that because of tax reasons, prize money for tournaments is paid out directly from the sponsors and not through ACE. Their statement is translated below.

Statement regarding Dota 2 tournament prize money: Because of tax reasons, all tournaments' prizes are not transferred to ACE prior to tournament kickoff. Instead, they are directly paid out to the respective clubs. We monitor and coordinate the progress of this process, working to speed up the conclusion. For those tournament organizers that end up not paying out prize money, we will utilize the legal system to get the deserved prize money back.
