Xiyang returns to OMG
Hu "Xiyang" Bin joined OMG as their mid laner in the 2014 LPL Spring split as a temporary replacement while Yu "Coo1" Jiajun recovered his health. As OMG's new mid laner, Xiyang rocketed to the top of the MVP rankings. Despite inexperience with competitive play, he did very well in LPL for his first term.
Edward Gaming and SK Telecom T1 K exposed xiyang's inability to handle jungle pressure or to play a large number of champions with high proficiency. When OMG lost to Invictus Gaming in the 2014 Spring Playoff semifinals, management made the final decision to return Coo1 to the starting lineup for the 2014 LPL Summer split.
Xiyang was moved to Positive Energy, OMG's sister team. After a poor performance in LPL, PE had fallen to the LoL Secondary Pro League. It's likely OMG was looking to Xiyang as a source of rising talent with which to revitalize the team.
The team had mixed results throughout their split in LSPL, despite containing other popular faces like Li "Sicca" Haoyu, Peng "Aluka" Zhenming, and Hu "Ziv" Wei, all of whom played for PE's 2014 Spring LPL championship roster. All members of the team except Xiyang were replaced toward the end of the season, and most of the roster was let go.
After LSPL, however, Xiyang returned to the OMG house and began streaming from there, playing mostly support. Yesterday, OMG announced that Xiyang has returned to the OMG family.
"Welcome Xiyang back to the family <3"
It is unclear whether Xiyang will join the starting lineup of the team in the future or whether he will function as a mid laner or as another name on OMG's long roster of support players.
