Grow uP eSports enters two-year deal with adidas
Portuguese organisation Grow uP eSports has signed a two-year deal with adidas.
The sportswear manufacturer will supply hoodies, training suits, coats, t-shirts, and hoodies for the organisation’s players.
Telmo Silva, CEO of Grow uP eSports discussed the deal in an announcement: “At a stage in which we want to consolidate the brand grow up esports at international level, it is essential to count on the support of global brands, such as adidas, to develop and increasingly improve esports before society.”
Grow uP eSports is also partnered with the likes of NZXT, Alibaba Cloud, and Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth (IPDJ). It currently fields players in League of Legends, FIFA, Pro Evolution Soccer, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Street Fighter V.
Paulo Junqueira, National Representative of adidas also commented: “It is with great satisfaction that we will work with the Grow uP eSports, marking presence with the community and the esports industry.”
This isn’t adidas’ first instance of working within esports. In early 2017, Team Vitality signed a one-year with adidas France. Danish organisation North joined forces with the sportswear giant in April 2018.
Esports Insider says: It’s good to see organisations that are based in locations which aren’t considered esports hotspots getting deals with big non-endemic brands. Grow uP eSports does some cool things and has been around for a long time so hopefully the deal proves fruitful for both parties and can continue beyond the initial duration.
