Team Envy and Dallas Fuel partner with GameStop
Esports organisation Team Envy and its Overwatch League franchise Dallas Fuel have both partnered with American video game and electronics retailer GameStop.
Team Envy and Dallas Fuel will launch a series of gaming clinics with GameStop throughout 2019, catering to amateur players who aspire to become professionals.
Geoff Moore, President and COO of Envy Gaming discussed the sponsorship: “We’re excited to partner with GameStop at a point in time where everyone involved in gaming is starting to build for the future. Esports as a global sport and the accessibility of video games have the potential to positively impact billions of people through shared experiences, content and more. Having a partner in GameStop that makes sharing a passion for gaming a priority is the perfect way for Envy and the Dallas Fuel to connect with our fans in our home market in Texas and globally.”
Dallas Fuel’s head coach “Aero” and assistant coach “Jayne” will be involved in future GameStop Live clinics. Team Envy and its Overwatch League brand will also “provide activation support as GameStop expands into programming around collegiate esports programs.”
Frank Hamlin, Chief Marketing Officer at GameStop also commented: “We are aiming to become the local neighborhood hub for amateur esports and we are thrilled to collaborate with Envy Gaming and their players so they can help inspire and educate the gaming community at the grassroots level.”
Team Envy is also partnered with Jack In The Box, Monster Energy, CORSAIR, Twitch, and SCUF Gaming.
Esports Insider says: It’s good to see Team Envy getting more involved with esports at a grassroots level, as that’s where the future waves of talent are likely to come from. GameStop is obviously stepping up its efforts in esports and we’re intrigued to see where it goes with its collegiate plans.
