Celtic FC eSports finds gaming chair partner in GT Omega Racing
Celtic Football Club has partnered with gaming chair brand GT Omega Racing for its esports efforts.
A limited edition, branded gaming chair will be unveiled and available for purchase in the near future.
Miguel Pacheco, International Business Development Manager at Celtic FC commented in an announcement: “We are delighted to make the announcement of our first ever esports partnership agreement with GT Omega Racing. Their support will allow us to develop our team further in the exciting world of esports.”
Celtic FC is one of six clubs that’s competing in the inaugural season of eFootball.Pro, a Pro Evolution Soccer competition devised by developer KONAMI and Gerard Piqué.
Brian Copeland, Marketing Co-ordinator for GT Omega Racing also discussed the deal: “We are beyond excited to begin our partnership with Celtic FC Esports. To be partnering up with a globally-recognised organisation who is only moving from strength to strength as they grow into the diverse, and rapidly expanding gaming and esports community, is nothing short of a dream come true for us.
“It means a great deal to be supporting a team local to us as they take their next steps in this incredible community which is such a big part of so many lives. We look forward to making sure all of the competitors, players and everyone involved with Celtic FC Esports are sitting comfortably as they continue to compete and thrive at the highest level.”
GT Omega Racing is also partnered with NBA 2K League team Magic Gaming, Belgian organisation Epsilon Esports, esports television channel GINX Esports TV, and gaming entertainment collective Sidemen.
Esports Insider says: It’s good to see to a club such as Celtic FC get more involved with esports, whether that’s through the entrance into a new game or an esports-specific partnership such as this. Gaming chair partnerships are fairly par for the course when it comes to deals in this industry but, nonetheless, it’s good to see the club embrace the industry a little further.
