Counter Logic Gaming adds Newegg as Fortnite partner
North American organisation Counter Logic Gaming has announced a new partnership with technology retailer Newegg.
As part of the deal, Newegg will act as the presenting partner and official online technology retail partner of the organisation’s Fortnite team. This includes social media promotion, a jersey sponsorship, an original content series, and community events.
The first annual ‘Newegg X CLG Fortnite Event’ will be hosted at the Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden in spring this year. The event will allow fans to watch Counter Logic Gaming’s roster take on “special guests”.
Nick Allen, COO of Counter Logic Gaming discussed the partnership: “Fortnite is a pop culture phenomenon, beloved not only by millions of gamers, but also celebrities and professional athletes. We couldn’t be more excited to connect our Fortnite team with a leading e-retailer such as Newegg.”
Additionally, the players that represent Counter Logic Gaming will make appearances at events held by Newegg through the year and Newegg will receive entitlement to a training room in the CLG Performance Center in Los Angeles.
Mitesh Patel, VP Marketing at Newegg also commented: “Esports enthusiasts have always been able to rely on Newegg for the latest gaming gear, but this new collaboration with CLG will bring our customers even closer to the epicenter of the esports movement. Through a slate of CLG Fortnite team and community events in New York and Los Angeles, the Newegg/CLG collaboration will give our customers a front-row seat to cheer on one of the world’s premier esports teams, and provide insights behind the professional players’ gaming rigs.”
Counter Logic Gaming is also partnered with Twitch, Legendary Builds, OMEN by HP, Squarespace, Spectrum, and MAXNOMIC by NEEDforSEAT. Last month, the organisation entered a partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) where together they’ll aim to “improve mental health conditions in the gaming and esports industry”.
Esports Insider says: There’s a lot of money in Fortnite esports and the game is still one of the most popular out there in the market so this makes some sense. In the overall landscape of partnerships this seems to be pretty involved and collaborative, so that’s definitely a plus. We’ll keep an eye out for the inaugural event later this year!
